Wilkes County Board of Health held a special called meeting August 31, 2021 to discuss COVID-19 in the community. During this meeting statistics from the community, schools, and hospital were shared to discuss the transmission rate in our community. 

At the meeting the Board of Health adopted a position statement in support of the work that the health department has and continues to do during the pandemic. The board also adopted a resolution urging residents and businesses to practice COVID-19 mitigation strategies aimed at lowering the spread in our community.
