[ARCHIVED] Fall Bivalent COVID-19 Booster Now Available

On Friday September 1st, the CDC along with the FDA recommended the new formula of the COVID-19 booster for both Pfizer and Moderna. The COVID 19 booster has gone from a single (monovalent) formula to a double (bivalent) variant based formula. 

Wilkes Health will begin scheduling the bivalent booster for both Moderna and Pfizer starting Wednesday September 7th. 

In order to be eligible for the Pfizer booster you have be 12 years or older, 2 months since completing your primary series, or 2 months since your last booster. Children aged 5 to 11, are still eligible to receive a Pfizer booster, however, it is still the monovalent formula at this time. The bivalent formula has not been authorized for this age group currently. 

In order to get the Moderna booster you must be 18 years or older, 2 months since completing your primary series, or 2 months since your last booster.
