Pregnant Women

Safe Sleep Classes
Wilkes Health in partnership with local agencies offer Safe Sleep NC classes. Safe Sleep NC is a program of the UNC Center for Maternal and Infant Health. The goal is to strengthen the adoption of infant safe sleep practices that reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and that prevent infant sleep-related deaths such as accidental infant asphyxiation and suffocation across the state.
Wilkes Health offers this free training to any pregnant women, their partners, and caregivers. Classes are held twice a month, and with the completion of the class the mom to be will receive a free Pack-n-Play or baby monitor. Classes typically run 45 minutes to 1 hour. For more information concerning these free classes click here for our schedule at the Wilkes County Public Library or here for our schedule at North Wilkesboro Comprehensive Treatment Center to see our schedule or call 336-651-7468.
