The High Country Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan Update is now available for public review and comment! The Counties of Alleghany, Ashe, Watauga, and Wilkes (including the jurisdictions within) are currently engaged in a planning process to become less vulnerable to natural disasters. Your participation is important to us! This federally required plan, developed with funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), ensures that plan participants remain eligible for hazard mitigation project funding.
