The Wilkes County Environmental Health Office, as a service to the public, has made scanned copies of Wilkes County Septic Tank and Well records available on this site. The available records are scanned copies of the files that resided in file cabinets in our office for the purpose of assisting members of Wilkes County in their records searches. Images available on this site may have handwritten or other notations on them.

NAME FORMAT: LAST, FIRST EXAMPLE: SMITH, BILL
Note: All permits are issued in the name of the property owner at the time the septic or well was installed. Not the applicant, renter or potential buyer.
PERMIT NUMBER FORMAT: EXAMPLE: 31761
When searching for a well permit it may be necessary to add a W at the end of the permit number or parcel number. For example, 01954W or 1901082W.
This is may not apply to all situations.
PARCEL NUMBER: Parcel Numbers are obtainable from tax documentation or property deed. The parcel number is a 7 digit number. An example is 1901082.
Please Note: Wild Card Searches can be performed by using the * key (shift 8)
Examples:
Using * and the beginning of a sequence will yield results ending in the text you type. - *123 will pull all results ending in 123
Using * at the end of a sequence will yield results beginning in the text you type – 123* will pull all results beginning in 123
Using * at the beginning and end of a sequence will yield results with the text you type occurring consecutively anywhere - *123* will pull all results of all consecutive 123 occurring
